About Us

York City Harmonisers is a mixed-voice choir based in York.Formed in 2024, we welcome singers with a variety of experience levels to try a different style of choral singing.Our repertoire is centered around barbershop harmony: closely-voiced, four-part chords with a thrilling sound.We sing all kinds of songs, from rock classics to musical theatre, jazz standards, and more.

Leadership Team

Nick Bryant
Musical Director
Nick is an accomplished barbershop singer, arranger, and director with over 15 years of experience. He sang baritone in one of only two British quartets ever to medal at the International Collegiate Quartet Competition and has earned acclaim on the world stage.His custom arrangements are performed by several British champion ensembles and by International Quartet Silver Medalists First Take.Nick is passionate about helping singers unlock the power of their own voices and is dedicated to guiding amateur ensembles toward world-class performance.

Peter Bryant
Committee Manager
Peter has been singing barbershop music since the age of 11, and has performed with a number of award-winning ensembles.As well as YCH, he currently sings with British champion quartet Limelight, and directs York's female-voice barbershop chorus, Main Street Sound.
